The Associated Press (AP) has confirmed 30 May 2012 as the go-live date for all AP news services (Direct, Global News, General News Service, Horizons and Technology) in high definition (HD) in time for the 2012 London Olympics in July and the US presidential elections in November.
The launch of all news in HD is the culmination of a phased HD rollout for the AP, which began with entertainment news in November 2011, followed by sports news via its joint venture with Sports News Television (SNTV) in January 2012.
