President Barack Obama will fly to Colorado on Sunday to visit victims and families from the Aurora movie theatre shooting, the White House announced.

The shooting suspect who went on a deadly rampage inside a Colorado theatre planned the attack with "calculation and deliberation," police said on Saturday.

Authorities wouldn't discuss a motive for one of the deadliest mass shootings in recent US history, as makeshift memorials for the victims sprang up across the street from the movie theatre and relatives began to publicly mourn their loved ones.

The attack left 12 dead and 58 injured.
