US President George W Bush and the First Lady will welcome German Chancellor Angela Merkel to his ranch in Crawford, Texas on 9 and 10 November 2007. An invitation to the President's ranch is usually reserved for close allies and indicates his view of their shared goals.

President Bush looks forward to continued bilateral dialogue with Chancellor Merkel on issues discussed at the G8 Summit in Germany and 62nd United Nations General Assembly in New York including NATO force, Afghanistan, advancing the Israeli-Palestinian peace problem, continued violence in Darfur region of Sudan, international terrorism, climate change and other issues.
