AP Class of 2012

Over the next 12 months, AP will follow five recently graduated students from key European capitals against a backdrop of austerity and high unemployment.

As part of AP's multi-format coverage on the impact of the European financial crisis, our text, photo and video journalists will provide regular updates on the experiences of five students based in London, Paris, Athens, Madrid and Berlin as they attempt to enter the world of work.

The students will also serve as a focus group and give their reactions to summits, local elections, referendums and other key news events throughout the year.

Who are the class of 2012?

Paris: Moira Koffi, Communications graduate at Sorbonne.
Madrid: Rafael Gonzales Del Castillo, Architecture student in country suffering building bust.
Athens: Athina Prassa, English graduate living in neighbourhood haunted by Golden Dawn extremist group.
Berlin: Lutz Henschel, Engineering graduate still looking for a job after 40 applications.
London: Lucy Nicholls, Fashion Design, Styling and Promotion graduate from Middlesex University.

Follow the AP Class of 2012 via Horizons

Video will be available via Horizons from 16 July 2012, AP's daily lifestyle and technology video feed:

– Video profiles for each student will be distributed every day during the first week of coverage, providing details of their university studies, job applications, etc.

– Regular updates will follow the students' search for employment and tell the story of the crisis from an engaging and unique perspective.
